Dr. Tran immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 2 and began her lifelong journey in healthcare at just 15, when her mother was diagnosed with cancer. After school, she would visit the library, translating medical books so her mother could stay informed about her treatment. This early experience sparked her passion for medicine and helping others.
Dr. Tran spent eight years volunteering at local hospitals before becoming a medical interpreter for two companies. She has been a dedicated parishioner at Sacred Heart Church since 2001, where she has volunteered as a piano/organ player, Vietnamese language teacher, and Bible class instructor. A Valedictorian of Northridge High School, Dr. Tran received a full-ride scholarship to Wright State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She then earned the prestigious Boonshoft Scholars Scholarship, a full-tuition award, to attend the Boonshoft School of Medicine. Dr. Tran completed her residency in Family Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina, one of the top 25 family medicine programs in the nation, focusing on Academic, Global, and Underserved Health.
